CCTV Cameras At Home
October 27, 2011It may come as a surprise that crime in United States has been continually declining the last 25 years. There are lots of explanations as to why this is the case but none more convincing than the widespread use of cctv cameras. Yep, security cameras do more than just catch criminals in the act, they deter crime. Criminals want to take advantage of the easiest possible situation and surveillance cameras are a big frustration.
As such, cctv cameras being used as home protection is on the rise. They are less expensive than home alarms and you don't have to pay a monthly subscription to a company you'll rarely, if ever, use. A few security cameras around the perimeter of your house will do the trick. You can choose what level of security you'll need and how advanced technology wise, you want to go. IR camera technology is relatively cheap and is frequently found in stores online. I suggest purchasing an IR bullet camera system along with a reliable DVR and a medium sized (20") monitor.
Make sure to have an experienced professional install your system. The last thing you'll want is a technical failure or vulnerability in your cctv system when you need it most.
Be careful of whom you buy your system from. There are hundreds of websites out there that over-charge for low quality or knock-off products. Buy from someone who has good reviews and has some credentials you can check on. Best of luck on your venture to save money, protect your assets, and increase your safey!
